PROGRAMS

St. Paul’s Anglican Kindergarten strives to work towards the provision of an outstanding early childhood education for all children.  We endeavour to work in partnership with families and the St Paul’s kindergarten community to contribute significantly to positive outcomes for each child that is supported by best principles and practices.

Our programs offer an outstanding learning experience within a stimulating and nurturing environment for all our children.

Bush Kinder

Surrounded by an increasingly fast-paced, highly structured and technological world, we recognise the importance of teaching the children to slow down, explore the natural environment, problem solve and take risks within a supported framework.Bush Kinder offers unplanned, unknown and unpredictable encounters, which lead to significant provocations for learning. (Waters 2012)Bush Kinder has been extensively researched, particularly overseas, and shows significant benefits to children’s confidence, motivation, resilience and concentration, as well as increased visual, social, physical, imaginative and language skills. At St. Paul’s we are incredibly fortunate to be able to offer such a rich and diverse opportunity for our children within an inner-city environment.

Specialist Programs

In addition to our regular curriculum, we also offer a wide range of supplemental specialist programs to enrich and positively influence each child’s social, physical, emotional and cognitive development.  Sport4Kids, music, Drama Toolbox, yoga & mindfulness classes take place across all programs.

Incursions & Excursions

Our rich and varied incursion and excursion roster is what sets our kinder apart. We offer street and dog safety, first aid, Drama Toolbox, beekeeping, Indigenous cultural experience, native animal and reptile experiences.

We also organise excursions to places of interest such as visiting the local Primary School, the National Art Gallery, Melbourne Museum, Bush Kinder and local shops.

This ensures the children are exposed to a plethora of engaging and educational experiences.

Sustainability

We aim to teach sustainable practices through our curriculum and actions to support children in becoming environmentally responsible throughout their entire life.

Child Safe Organisation

St Paul’s Anglican kindergarten is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people and has zero tolerance for child abuse.

We are committed to providing an environment where children and young people are safe, and feel safe, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives.
